[HIGHLIGHT] Tommy Townsend drops a dropped drop punt at the 10!
[HIGHLIGHT] Under pressure, Logan Cooke hits a great banana ball 47 air yards. The best in the game with these wacky punts, the returner lets it go and the Bills offense is pinned at the 6. — This weekend went about as poorly as it could have gone. We lost Logan Cooke, Braden Mann, JK Scott, and Dan Whelan. If the Texans lose tonight and Tommy Townsend it done, the playoffs get so much less exciting.
Just an awful WC weekend.

Matt Araiza? What do yall think? — Personally I really miss Tommy Townsend. I feel like he always pinned them back deep and he was so on it.
Not that Matt is “bad” per say I just miss Tommy haha. What do y’all think? Have you been noticing how he’s not as good or do you feel differently?
Let me know!!!
[HIGHLIGHT] Tommy Townsend hits an open-field traditional punt 56 yards with 4.84s of hangtime, placing it on the sideline hashes. The PP,

[PFF] Punting grades for Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season and season punting grades through Week 7.
[HIGHLIGHT] from the shadow of his own endline, Michael Dickson hits a 56 yard, 4.8s hanging punt. A really impressive punt for more than just the numbers. See details below. — Other Dickson videos to compare: [W1 vs 49ers](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1nd5hut/highlight_each_of_micheal_dicksons_5_punts_from/), [PS vs Chiefs](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1mvi15l/highlight_michael_dickson_pins_the_chiefs_inside/). I think these will be enough to see the differences in what I am talking about.
so the operation on this punt is not atypical in this situation, but lets run through it regardless. NFL punters, from a traditional punt formation (can change
[Chiefs] "It was a pleasure kickin' it with you. Thank you for everything, @tommy_townsend"
Former Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend is signing a two-year $6 million deal with the Houston Texans, per source.
Allegiant Stadium's all-time postseason leaders
Salary cap magic - it's possible to re-sign Jones, Sneed, Tranquill, Allegretti, Townsend; extend Bolton; renegotiate MVS to vet min; cut Toney. Still have $6.76M for draft picks, need 5 more players to reach 53.
I just wanna give credit to the lesser talked about key players on this team. Everyone already knows this but lots of players came up clutch tonight! — I mean so many players came up big when they needed to. Butker, Hardman, MVS, special teams, defense, Tommy Townsend. I could go on and on! Truly a team effort here tonight and everyone really made a huge impact and deserves credit
For example if Butker misses any of those kicks, special teams doesn't block the point after or recover the muff, Hardman and MVS made catches when they needed to, Townsend made fantastic punts
I know everyone knows this already, but I just wanted to say how t
Just a picture of Tommy Townsend’s Foot — The foot of god.
Who do we resign? Who do we let walk? — I know it’s early cuz we’re in the middle of a playoff run but after watching Sneed all season, he’s one of the top DB’s in the league and a real difference maker. I would hate to see him go. Also Chris Jones, another difference maker, one of the top DT’s in the league that takes a double team almost every down. Willie Gay and Drue Tranquill, would love to keep our linebacker depth. Who do we keep? Who walks?

Week 17 Reflection: What the MIGHT Chiefs Offseason Look Like — **NFL Projected Salary Cap: 246 Million | Chiefs Projected Cap Space: 32 Million**
As the current season deviates from our initial expectations and rapidly approaches its conclusion in a matter of weeks, certain transactions stand out that may not resonate well with fans. However, I believe these moves are necessary to ensure the team remains competitive in the future.
**Pre June 1 Transactions:** Moving on from MVS at this time seems about right, even if he is open to a restructure I think hi
According to PFF, yesterday's game against the Raiders was the first time in Mahomes' career that he was the lowest graded player on the Chiefs' offense. Probably the worst game of his career.
[Adam Schefter] ICYMI: Chiefs’ special teams coach Dave Toub revealed this week that, with the team’s regular punter Tommy Townsend dealing with a left knee injury, Kansas City’s backup punter is … Patrick Mahomes. For those who need proof (📹 @Chiefs):

Denver's Crushing Defeat
In Week 3, Denver suffered a devastating defeat, losing by a staggering 50 points. It was a tough day for the Broncos.
*Chargers and Brandon Staley*
There's been ongoing debate about Brandon Staley's coaching abilities, especially from Chiefs fans who wouldn't mind seeing him fired. However, some Chiefs supporters might prefer him to stay as it seems to work in their favor.
*Raiders – Not Much to Say*
As for the Raiders, their performance l
5.4s of hang on a punt is insanity. Tommy Townsend's 2nd punt against the Lions did just that (and was a 53 yarder!). Modern punters have become so good that even season announcers like Tirico just brush it off like it is nothing. Fantastic punt!
[Drew Rosenhaus] Welcome to the family Tommy Townsend
[Tommy Townsend] Not good for football for many reasons… but let’s pass something that players and coaches are so clearly against — https://twitter.com/tommy_townsend/status/1661066358245801991?cxt=HHwWjoC--arDpY0uAAAA
Way-too-early 2023 53-man roster projection — We'll probably get a few more veteran FA signings through the remainder of the offseason, but after the draft, here's a look at what the 53 man roster might be shaping up to look like for our Chiefs in 2023. Projected starters are bolded.

**Offense (26)**
**QB (3): Patrick Mahomes**, Shane Buechele, Blaine Gabbert
The Chiefs used a roster spot to protect Shane Buechele all through last season, but also brought in 34 year old journeyman Blaine
[Yates] Chiefs All Pro P Tommy Townsend has re-signed with Kansas City. He had been tendered as a restricted free agent at the original round tender.
My free agency poll, two months later
[Garafolo] The Chiefs are giving first team All-Pro P Tommy Townsend the low tender as a restricted free agent, source says, meaning KC would get no compensation if he signs an offer sheet with another team and they don’t match. The tender is worth $2.6m this season if he signs it.
Poll Results: Which free agents do r/KansasCityChiefs want to re-sign?
Thoughts On Dave Toub — 2023 was the first year I can remember that had me questioning Dave Toub and his effectiveness as the Special Teams Coordinator. Between Butker’s rough season, questions about holding kicks, and Moore’s struggles as a punt returner, it made me realize how privileged we have been to have pretty solid Special Teams play for most of his tenure. Tommy Townsend was about the only consistent bright spot the entire season. Then once we got to the playoffs it was like everything turned around. Butker lo
Tommy Townsend appreciation thread — Not necessarily for any amazing punts from last night, or during the playoffs, but more for the fact that he wasn't completely terrible like the Bengals and Eagles punters. The Skyy Moore return in the AFCCG was a line drive with no time for the coverage team to get there. The Toney return last night was similar in the fact that there was no coverage due to the low punt. Had there been even a half second more hang time, the eagles are all over it. Townsend consistently gave us good/great punts,
Free Agents — Now that the game is over and everything is settling, who do you guys hope that we resign?
Personally I know he is controversial, but I would love it if we kept Frank Clark on a team friendly deal. This year showed how much he loves the team. After the game he was so passionate, and he really shows up when we need him the most (outside of the penalty).
I also would love to keep McKinnon. We have an awesome future with Pacheco, but they work well together.
I feel like Tommy Townsend is a no br
Do Chiefs fans normally show respect for their punters? Tommy Townsend did really well last night with pinning the Bengals deep in their own territory several times last night, and I just hope that he gets the respect he deserves.
