New Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy on Jaxson Dart: “This kid is different”
Andy Reid: “I’m fired up to have [Eric Bieniemy] back” — “Yeah, I’m fired up to have him back,” Reid said. “When you lose a Matt Nagy, to bring a guy in who can just step in and go — that’s not an easy thing to do. So, I’m fired up to have him back. He brings great energy. Loves doing what he’s doing. All he wants to do is win football games and have a great offense. Ultimate team guy.”
Since departing the Chiefs, Bieniemy served as the Commanders’ offensive coordinator in 2023, UCLA’s offensive coordinator in 2024, and the Bears’ running backs coach

Coming into the 2025 season, the Bears were a mess. Having fired their first coach in season ever after an embarrassing loss to the Lions in front of a national audience on Thanksgiving. The Bears were looking to change the conver

In the last column, I said I would recap teams 8-5 in this installment, but I didn’t want to shortchange the write-ups, so I only covered 8-6 here. I plan to do 5-3 tomorrow, then recap the top two in the final post. So, with that, let’s go!

Ben Johnson is the first Bears' HC to win his playoff debut since Dave Wannstedt during the 1994 season — That year the Bears went 9-7, finishing 4th in the NFC Central after losing all tiebreakers to the also 9-7 Packers and 9-7 Lions. They would upset the 10-6 Vikings (who finished 1st in the Central) by a score of 35-18 in the wildcard round, before getting smoked by the eventual Super Bowl-champion 49ers 44-15 in the Divisional round. Those would be the only two playoff games Wannstedt coached for the Bears.
Since then:
-Dick Jauron: Lost their only playoff game with him as HC in the 2001 seas

Ravens to interview Chiefs OC Matt Nagy for head coach vacancy

[Russini] Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy will be interviewing with both the Titans and Raiders tomorrow, and the Cardinals on Friday, per source.
[Mike Garafolo] Nagy says he doesn't plan to be a play caller as a HC. And this from @danpompei: "The culture he hopes to foster will encourage players to feel loose and free in their assignments and not be sabotaged by details, as he now knows his Bears sometimes became."

[James Palmer] Nagy is a free agent. His contract is essentially up with the Chiefs. From their time in KC there is obviously a very good relationship between Nagy and Titans GM Mike Borgonzi.
[Arrowhead Corner] If #Chiefs OC Matt Nagy does not get a head coaching job, he will likely look for an offensive coordinator job somewhere that would allow him to be the play-caller. Per, @TomPelissero + @RapSheet. — Apparently this was shared on NFL Network this morning. Can’t find a video to confirm.
Why is every bozo and his girlfriend asking for a DE in the first round? D was not even the problem this year ... it was our O which was a disappointment. — I need Chiefs to do the following:
1. Matt Nagy needs to go. He and Mahomes don't seem to understand each other very well. Ever since he has become our offensive coach, we seem to be struggling. This is literally step #1.
2. Step # 1 leads us to understand who should be hire instead. Here is the problem ... in NFL, you cannot hire an offensive coordinator as an offensive coordinator. That kind of poaching is NOT allowed. The only recent exception was actually Eric Bieniemy ... however, in

Matt Nagy Considered A 'Serious Candidate' For Titans' HC Job — Now this is something we all can all agree is good news, right?
[Russini] Sources say the Titans are expected to reach out to Lou Anarumo, Jeff Hafley, Matt Burke and Jesse Minter regarding their head coaching vacancy. Internally, Matt Nagy is also viewed as a serious candidate. More name I’m hearing:
Chiefs offense last 9 years (Nagy 17, 23-25) vs (Bieniemy 18-22) — In 2017 the Chiefs offense averaged 375 yds a game, and then from 2018-2022, they averaged 410 yds a game. In 2023-24 they averaged 340 yds a game. So far to date in 2025, offense is averaging 357 yds a game.
The 4 LOWEST scoring & lowest total yards offensive years since 2017 were 2017, 2023, 2024, & 2025!
MATT NAGY was OC in 2017, and 2023-2025. (4 yrs)
Eric Bieniemy was OC from 2018-2022. (5 yrs)

I'm going to go over the various weaknesses in the roster and coaching staff, as well as addressing cap issues and potential moves for next year, including how likely they are given who our decision makers are.
# Let's start with the offense:
**QB:** ***Patrick Mahomes*** is the best quarterback in the league, full stop.
Offseason coaching staff wish list? — So this season, Mahomes has been scrambling and holding the ball like playoff Mahomes and he himself acknowledged this in like week 3: he needs to put everything on the line to win this year. And he did. And our chickens came home to roost; it’s a dangerous game and pressing like that compounds it.
He’s probably not going to be back to a true 100% until a year from now. He \*could\* be back week 1, but who knows what kind of mobility he’ll have; he’s going to be 31 years old next September and
How the Chiefs should evaluate the remainder of this season — With the Chiefs all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, here’s a few adjustments that can be made for the remainder of the season that I think are critical for evaluating this team going into 2026:
- Esa Pole needs starting reps at RT going forward: if he can prove he’s capable of handling RT at an above average level, it guarantees Jawaan Taylor AND Jaylon Moore will be released saving a ton of cap space. Our starting 5 Oline would be set under contract for the foreseeable future.
If we lose to the Texans, we should go full tank mode and try to finish last in the division. — The Patriots finished last in the AFCE last year and have greatly benefited from an easy schedule this season.
We would get a much better draft position and potentially a top 8-10 pick. This would easily allow to start our rebuild and hopefully compete in the 2028 season.
Cut Travis Kelce, he's too good and would actively prevent us from tanking.
Restructure Mahomes contract, he gets a fat bonus but needs to sit out of the rest of the year with a fake injury.
How funny would it be if we l
What is Matt Nagy is trying to do here? — I have a hard time believing that Andy Reid decided, with Mahomes at QB (and Josh Simmons still in the game), against a bottom 10 NFL defense, that the best play they could come up with is to have each receiver run a 5 yard hitch at the EXACT SAME DEPTH and having everyone stare blankly at Mahomes who then proceeds to scramble into a sack because there is **NO SECOND READ**...
Does Nagy think that Mahomes is Trubisky and he's coaching the Bears because that is exactly what this looks like.
