[Arrowhead Corner] The Giants pursued a trade earlier in the offseason for Chiefs veteran linebacker Drue Tranquill.
[Garafolo] #Chiefs LB Drue Tranquill recently renegotiated the final year of his deal, taking his base pay from $6 million down to $3.5 million ($3M fully guaranteed) and trimming his cap number by $2.5 million. Once considered a possible cap casualty, Tranquill is locked in for 2026.
This Could be a Rough Retool — When we look at the failings this season, I think we have to start at the top end of our salary list. Who here actually lived up to their cap values?
* Of this list, I'd say Creed, Bolton, and McDuffie are the only three that actually performed at their salary, but I would say Bolton didn't live up to the $19m he's owed next year and McDuffie has some rough outings to make me question if he's worth $25m/year to the Chiefs.
* I'll give Smith and Moore a pass. Smith did until the injury and Moore

I'm going to go over the various weaknesses in the roster and coaching staff, as well as addressing cap issues and potential moves for next year, including how likely they are given who our decision makers are.

With both starting wideouts (Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy) out for multiple weeks, an aging Travis Kelce, and rookie starter Josh Simmons on the line, the four KC stalwarts will need to maintain consistent protection and blocking for Patr
[Newell] The Chiefs’ emotions boiled over in last night's season-opening loss. Here’s what they said about it — Skip the click:
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill grimaced as he extended his leg while sitting in the locker room, then briefly put both palms up to the top of his forehead as he shook off the pain.
This was minutes after the Chiefs’ 27-21 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers Friday night at Corinthians Arena, and something became immediately evident while next to Tranquill following his team’s season-opening defeat:
He’d just put his body on the line.

53-Man Roster Predictions — Note: this list only contains players who are currently on the roster. The final 53 will probably include a couple of waiver wire pickups but there's no way for me to know who those will be.
I'm also including the reserve lists since at least two of those players can be eligible for the 53.
Edit: It looks like there were some last second reports about the roster as soon as I was about to post this, so I made sure to add those in.

This team has to prove they belong in the top tier of AFC teams in this era. They have the talent, and they have the coaching staff. They have keep guys on the field, and close out games that are sure wins. Ever since drafting Justin, its been this team needing one more piece. Going into this season it looks like all the pieces are in place. Sure they may have some

Deep breath Chargers fans, the bad man can’t hurt you anymore. Just kidding, but as far as Anthony Lynn goes, he was deserving of being fired. He had his obvious strengths, he was a coach that built trust and relationships with players. The players clearly loved him and played hard for him. It’s not often that a team out of the playoffs goes on a 4
