# Overview
**Team:** New York Jets
**Division:** AFC East
**Record:** 3-14 (0-6 vs. division)
# Introduction
I’m just going to get two things out of the way up front. First, this season was rough. Without question the worst one I’ve seen in my 20+ years as a fan of this team. Second, I firmly believe that 90% of the issues with this franchise stem from decisions made by ownership.
Colts bolster defensive tackle depth with latest free agent signing — Colts sign DT Derrick Nnadi to continue rebuilding their D-Line.

Anti-Pro Bowl Roster if Decided by PFF Grade — I broke down what the Anti-Pro Bowl roster (worst players in each conference) should be by PFF grade up to this point in the season.
Instead of using "defensive end", "outside linebacker", & "inside linebacker", I am using EDGE (lines up on D-Line) and Linebacker (off-ball).
Grades are Through Week 16.

I'm going to go over the various weaknesses in the roster and coaching staff, as well as addressing cap issues and potential moves for next year, including how likely they are given who our decision makers are.
# Let's start with the offense:
**QB:** ***Patrick Mahomes*** is the best quarterback in the league, full stop.
It ends on the shoulders of these guys. — Absolute shit performance by the Chiefs dline. So many key moments they were not able to make a play, and could never get consistent pressure.
No reloaded weapons on offense next year... what little we can add will need to be focused on getting some guys who can actually get some pressure.
What a waste of a great Mahomes performance.
[Jones] Cincinnati has released Mike Pennel 👀 — Releasing this guy in favor of making room for Derrick Nnadi is one of the dumbest moves Brett Veach has made up to this point in his illustrious career as GM!! Bring him back now!!!
Why did KC keep Nnadi over Pennel despite worse grades? — On paper it looked weird. Mike Pennel had stronger PFF grades. Yet the Chiefs cut him in favor of Derrick Nnadi, who ranked low among interior defensive linemen. The move sparked outrage among fans, especially those digging into grade metrics and tape.
Kansas City’s front office leaned on age, durability, and competition as justification. Veach noted Nnadi is five years younger and has missed just two games over seven seasons. They also framed this as a trust bet in a familiar piece inside the
[Chiefs Hive] PFF currently ranks Derrick Nnadi as the worst interior defensive lineman in the NFL. I know you're wondering, Mike Pennel grades out as the 71st IDL this season. Nnadi grades out as 186th.
Happy Nigerian Independence day! To celebrate, I've unscientifically gathered a list of all current active plays of direct Nigerian descent to showcase their representation within this league. —

53-Man Roster Predictions — Note: this list only contains players who are currently on the roster. The final 53 will probably include a couple of waiver wire pickups but there's no way for me to know who those will be.
I'm also including the reserve lists since at least two of those players can be eligible for the 53.
Edit: It looks like there were some last second reports about the roster as soon as I was about to post this, so I made sure to add those in.
QB's: Patrick Mahomes, Gardner Minshew
RB's: Isiah Pacheco, Ka
[Schefter] Another deal: The Chiefs are trading a 6th-round pick to the New York Jets in exchange for DT Derrick Nnadi and a 7th-round pick, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Nnadi spent the first seven NFL seasons in Kansas City.
[Fowler] The Kansas City Chiefs are trading with the New York Jets to bring back DT Derrick Nnadi, per sources. The deal includes a 2027 conditional 6th/7th round pick flop.

I'll link to various comments below to prevent this from being a big wall of text. Also full disclosure, I'm going to be pasting, linking, and referencing a lot of what I wrote in my [Defending the Draft](https://www.reddit.com/r/NFL_Draft/comments/1kr6djb/defending_the_draft_2025_new_york_jets/) post for /r/nfl_draft. I'm doing this partially because there's a lot of overlap and I want to avoid repeating myself (also I forgot I signed up to do this post
The record for longest career without ever missing the playoffs is 11 seasons. James Winchester can tie that this year. — Patrick Chung played for 11 seasons and made the playoffs every year of his career. He's the only player to accomplish this feat. Otto Graham made the playoffs all 10 of his seasons and James Winchester has done the same in all 10 of his seasons so far. Active players are marked in bold in the table below.
Of course, other players have made the playoffs more times than Chung's 11, but they also had seasons in which they didn't play in the playoffs. Missing the playoffs (or riding the bench

The Chiefs May Need to Reinvent Their Offense (An Off-season Breakdown) — [Hey guys, I do a lot of writing, so if you can appreciate the effort here I'll have a lot more going up throughout the off-season on my substack!](https://guidetoteambuilding.substack.com/publish/posts/detail/157279380?referrer=%2Fpublish%2Fhome)
It might be odd to suggest that a team that has been to three straight Super Bowls, won two, and just went 15-2, weren’t exactly great this year, but the Kansas City Chiefs may need to reinvent their offense.
Initially, they stayed ahead of the NFL
Curious which active players were on all three superbowl winning teams — Howdy, I did a little searching, and the following players were on all three superbowl winning teams:
* Austin Reiter
* Blake Bell
* Chris Jones
* Derrick Nnadi
* Harrison Butker
* James Winchester
* Jody Fortson
* Mecole Hardman
* Nick Allegretti
* Patrick Mahomes
* Travis Kelce
Could someone please tell me which ones are playing today for the chiefs?
Thanks.

Four years after Patrick Mahomes pedaled backwards and hit Tyreek Hill on “2-3 Jet Chip Wasp” to convert a third-and-15 and start their comeback over the 49ers, these two sides are set to face off again on the biggest stage. This time around, Kansas City is looking to cement itself as a dynasty, with their third championship in five years, while San Francisco i

SB Rematch: all the active Chiefs + 49ers who met in SB LIV — As we all know, there's a huge amount of roster turnover in the modern NFL. While the upcoming Super Bowl matchup was played only 4 years ago, there aren't that many people who will actually play in both games. Here's the rundown:

We have arrived at Super Bowl LVII and for as dominant as other teams may have been for stretches, I think we ended up with the two best teams in the league facing off – not only in terms what they did all season long, but also the versions we get from them leading into this matchup. With both sides entering the tournament atop their conference, the Chiefs
