Deandre Hopkins is 18th in career receiving yards — He's 33. 2 seasons removed from his 1k season with the titans. if he can get an additional 1500 receiving yards, that puts him 9th behind steve smith sr. he's had a great career and carried those texans teams in the 2010s. but is it just me if you compare him to the top 20 nfl guys in receiving yards, you wouldnt say hes better than? ellard, julio jones, torry holt, andre reed, and steve largeant round up the 15-20 positions and i wouldnt say hopkins had a better career than any of them.

In terms of AAV as a percentage of the cap, Alec Pierce (9.63%) is the 2nd highest paid free agent WR in the last ten years. The first is Kenny Golladay in 2021 at 9.86%. Third is Sammy Watkins in 2018 (9.03%) followed closely by Calvin Ridley in 2024 (9.01%). — I just looked through Spotrac and compared the AAV of each free agent WR in the last ten years vs. the total cap number in the year that they signed. IDK how useful AAV is overall, considering many of these players never played out their full contracts or fully realized that value (not to mention any guaranteed money at signing). But in terms of how a team values a player at the time of signing, I thought it was interesting to look through these numbers and try to glean some insight into how tea
32 Teams / 32 Days: 2025-2026 Baltimore Ravens — Anticipation for the Baltimore Ravens' 2025-2026 season was systemic.
Analysts and fans projected the roster as Super Bowl favorites, predicated on a mostly-returning roster, the continued maturation of Lamar Jackson, and a defense that concluded 2024 as a solid unit. Predictions favored a dominant AFC North trajectory and the conference's primary seed.
Reality proved different. Early-season attrition via injury compromised depth. The offense lacked red-zone efficiency and consistency. Defens

DeAndre Hopkins Thinks He Could Have Been a Top 10 WR if Used More This Season — Ravens veteran WR DeAndre Hopkins says he felt underutilized this season and felt like he could have finished as a Top 10 wide receiver if he got more playing time.

Keenan Allen, DeAndre Hopkins, and the race to 1,000 receptions — In the entire history of the NFL, only 15 players have caught 1,000 or more passes. Only one active player is in the top 15: Travis Kelce.
DeAndre Hopkins (988) and Keenan Allen (986) are in a race to see who will be the 16th player in NFL history to reach 1,000. Doing so will tie that player with Hines Ward, who has exactly 1,000 receptions. Catching just one more after that will bump Ward off the top 15.
Though Hopkins entered the year with a comfortable lead, Allen has caught up and figure

Deandre Hopkins — EDIT: this isn’t a new revelation or based off this play alone. Just a reminder. I think for the past two years there’s been silent problems we’ve had with the play calling and coaching that’s been catching up to us. Nagy is a boring play caller and I know EB used to have a heavy influence on the players and calls Andy drew up. I know “Andy makes the plays. “ Nagy is dead weight right now
I know everyone saw that catch today. I’m starting to see that it’s not only a player problem in KC but c

Can you help me with "consensus" WR depth chart rankings for the 2024 season? Do these rankings look correct? — Context: I'm working on a data visualizer which takes depth chart rank into account. However, the only API I could find provides historical WRs depth chart rankings as LWR, WR, and RWR, and each of those start from 1. I don't know every team well enough to know their WR4 and AI hasn't been particularly helpful and this is the best I could get. They initially had Brenden Rice as the Chargers WR4 which is fucking hilarious so I doubt most of this is correct.
EDIT: For further context, I plan on t

# Coaching Changes
If there was a coaching narrative during the 2024-2025 season, it was around what in the hell was going on with the pass defense. For the early half of the year, despite some stellar individual performances, Ravens were the 32nd ranked pass defense in the league. It was bad, and it was directly responsible for a couple of Baltimore's most embarrassing losses.
So it was probably unsurprising when, at the bitter conclusion of the 2024-

[Williams] DeAndre Hopkins thankful to Titans for fulfilling his trade request — The interesting part of this article is at the end where Hopkins confirms he forced himself out of Tennessee:

I didn’t get benched. But that was the first time in my career where I was like, ‘Man, I don’t belong out here on this field right now.’ We we

Why did Hopkins only play 16 snaps last week? — Going through the snap counts last week on PFF and I noted that Deandre Hopkins only got 16 snaps. This seems extraordinarily low for our WR1. What gives?
Some thoughts:
1) We were never truly in danger of losing the game, reflected by us not trailing and the ESPN win percentage chart always favoring us heavily.
2) We are saving him for next week and want him to be as fresh as possible in the biggest games of the year… something about Nick Wright saying “practice is over.”
3) He has a nag
[Spotrac] Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins needs 9 catches for $250,000, 140 receiving yards for $250,000, and 1 touchdown for $250,000.
Chiefs are virtually guaranteed to keep 4th round pick in Hopkins trade, even making the Super Bowl — When Hopkins was traded to the Chiefs, the draft capital included was a Chiefs 2025 5th round pick that could become a 4th upon two conditions:
1) The Chiefs make the Super Bowl
2) Hopkins plays 60% of snaps with the Chiefs

Xavier Worthy Appreciation Post — There were a lot of threads criticizing and being worried about Xavier Worthy’s— a rookie— performance throughout the season, and it was blown out of the water how he wasn’t doing random veteran things like catching things inbounds or not catching uncatchable passes.
He’s likely ending the regular season a week early with 638 receiving yards and 104 rushing yards. Not to mention all of the yards he’s missed from a few bad passes thrown his way.
