Tyreek fifth-round pick ripple effect — In 2016, the Chiefs used a fifth-round pick on Tyreek Hill.
That one pick eventually turned into:
• An All-Pro receiver (Hill, six seasons)
• An All-Pro cornerback (Trent McDuffie, four seasons)
• A 2026 first-round pick
• A 2027 third-round pick
• A solid rotational DB (Chamarri Conner, three seasons and counting)
• A 2026 fifth-round pick
• A 2026 sixth-round pick
For context, the likelihood of a fifth-round pick even becoming a regular starter is about 14.2%.
And we might even get T

How the Chiefs should evaluate the remainder of this season — With the Chiefs all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, here’s a few adjustments that can be made for the remainder of the season that I think are critical for evaluating this team going into 2026:
- Esa Pole needs starting reps at RT going forward: if he can prove he’s capable of handling RT at an above average level, it guarantees Jawaan Taylor AND Jaylon Moore will be released saving a ton of cap space. Our starting 5 Oline would be set under contract for the foreseeable future.
Of the corners and safeties who have played 40+ coverage snaps and allowed a 100% completion rate when targeted, Chamarri Conner has allowed 17 receptions (1st) and 237 yards (1st). Nohl Williams is tied for fewest completions when targeted - only 33% - on 9 targets (1st).

Roster Evaluation — Listen, I don't want to beat the dead horse but there are two serious problems that we've had for years that is finally catching up. Our talent evaluation has been terrible since the 2023 draft, especially on defense. We also are unable to sign any above average - elite players in free agency.
I'll be going through our recent drafts and current roster, feel free to read or not, I just want the discussion to be had.

53-Man Roster Predictions — Note: this list only contains players who are currently on the roster. The final 53 will probably include a couple of waiver wire pickups but there's no way for me to know who those will be.
I'm also including the reserve lists since at least two of those players can be eligible for the 53.
Edit: It looks like there were some last second reports about the roster as soon as I was about to post this, so I made sure to add those in.

Players with an asterisk left the team after winning that Super Bowl but returned and are currently on their roster.

Superbowl #5 to Tie 49ers & Cowboys? A Three-peat? Why Stop There? — The Chiefs still have one of the five youngest rosters in the NFL. The following players have never had a day in their pro career where they weren't winning the AFC West, AFC Championship, and the Superbowl since being drafted:
Trent McDuffie, George Karlaftis, Jaylen Watson, Bryan Cook, Isaiah Pacheco, Leo Chenal, Josh Williams, Skyy Moore, Chamarri Conner, Rashee Rice, Wanya Morris, Felix Anudike-Uzomah, among others.

With all veterans across the NFL arriving at their team facilities for training camp, it’s time to look at the most interesting and/or meaningful competitions for starting jobs. The regular season has come to a close and after 17 games, it’s time to talk about what players were able to show in their first years as pros. Therefore, I put together my annual NFL All-Rookie team, consisting of a starting lineup on offense and defense, along with six “key backups”.
Just like the All-Pro teams this year, I decided to add a 12th spot to offe
