3 small things from last offseason that became a big deal in 2025 — [Paywall-free link](https://archive.is/jh02I)
1. Missing out on a RB in round 4, which led to the Royals pick and sticking with Hunt/Pacheco
2. Fulton's surprise knee injury discovery after signing with KC
3. Brashard Smith's finger injury, which kept him away from the return role much of the season

Why is every bozo and his girlfriend asking for a DE in the first round? D was not even the problem this year ... it was our O which was a disappointment. — I need Chiefs to do the following:
1. Matt Nagy needs to go. He and Mahomes don't seem to understand each other very well. Ever since he has become our offensive coach, we seem to be struggling. This is literally step #1.
2. Step # 1 leads us to understand who should be hire instead. Here is the problem ... in NFL, you cannot hire an offensive coordinator as an offensive coordinator. That kind of poaching is NOT allowed. The only recent exception was actually Eric Bieniemy ... however, in
Just some thoughts after tonight’s game — Nohl Williams has looked like a stud when on the field. No excuse for why he hasn’t been playing more.
Brashard Smith should be our main return guy moving forward. Was nice seeing someone that actually has some juice back there.
Connor does not have the athleticism to cover nfl receivers. Please stop putting him in coverage.
Fulton actually looked pretty good tonight. Hope he continues this upward trend into next season.
Chris Jones mental mistakes costing us games is getting real old but

Chiefs Season and Offseason Analysis — And just like that, we're scheduling trips to Cancun.

I'm going to go over the various weaknesses in the roster and coaching staff, as well as addressing cap issues and potential moves for next year, including how likely they are given who our decision makers are.
# Let's start with the offense:
**QB:** ***Patrick Mahomes*** is the best quarterback in the league, full stop.
How the Chiefs should evaluate the remainder of this season — With the Chiefs all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, here’s a few adjustments that can be made for the remainder of the season that I think are critical for evaluating this team going into 2026:
- Esa Pole needs starting reps at RT going forward: if he can prove he’s capable of handling RT at an above average level, it guarantees Jawaan Taylor AND Jaylon Moore will be released saving a ton of cap space. Our starting 5 Oline would be set under contract for the foreseeable future.
Week 9 Run Game Tape Breakdown — Apologies for the long delay on this one, the game was such a bummer that I wasn't very motivated to rewatch it. I do think there are some positives to take from the tape though - the running game was not the problem and can hopefully still help us going forward.

Andy Reid needs to take some blame — Buccaneers Superbowl. Eagles Superbowl. Bills game Sunday (the Superbowl to Bills fans).
What do they have in common? **50%+ pressure on Mahomes when defense is rushing 4 or less linemen.**
So far the blame has always been on injuries, line play, receiver drops or Mahomes not getting the ball out, etc.
**But who decided NOT to run the ball against a Bills defense with a weak run defense AND doesn't have its star defensive tackle?**
**Who decided NOT to help chip the defensive ends regularly
[Tracy Wolfson] Isaiah Pacheco OUT for today’s game but Andy Reid telling me he avoided serious injury and should be back after the bye. Expect Kareem Hunt, Brashard Smith and Clyde Edwards-Helaire to carry the load
[McMullen] Final injury report of the week: Simmons and Pop are out, Trey and Jaylon Moore are Questionable. Jones, Palmer, and Johnson are all out for the Bills.

An unfortunate injury for Marquise Brown
Week 8 Run Game Tape Breakdown — Another nice win where the running game was very effective. We were perfect on our short-yardage conversions and generally pretty efficient on the other downs. This week I excluded the drive after we were up 28-7 as garbage time.

Week 7 Run Game Tape Breakdown — Another big win in the books. The return of Rashee Rice was the offensive focus, and the running game was pretty vanilla this week. I drew the "garbage-time" cutoff at the point after we scored the 4th TD to go up 28-0, which excludes one drive with the starters and all of the Minshew/Smith snaps.
