Lakers Vacant Spot — I think lakers really need to sign another ball handler especially if lakers match up with houston they probably gonna use haft court defense in the team because of the lack of true ball handler they might even use trap in haft court. the lack of ball handler will be exposed. Yeah timmie and Nick smith jr is pretty decent for the lakers but they dont solve lakers problem. If kennard will be the primary ball handler what lakers doing right now. Opponents will take advantage on it. I know lonzo is
Who do y’all think is getting signed? — I think Timme is def the right choice. Way more reliable and has high basketball iq. Smith has probably had the best single game this season, but he has had so many stinkers when he’s received mins that I wouldn’t be comfortable playing him in the playoffs. Timme isn’t flashy or athletic, but he has good court awareness and almost always makes the right play. Both are trash at defense thou😭
Waiving maxi and signing both could also be a possibility 👀
Nick Smith Jr last night: 12 PTS 4/5 3PT 120 TS% +9
Per Dan Woike, Lakers will use this weekend to evaluate players for the final roster spot. Who do you think would be the best fit? NSJ for ball handling, Timme as a point-center, or someone else?

Dalton Knecht, Kobe Bufkin, and Nick Smith Jr. have joined the team in Dallas
IT'S ABOUT THAT TIME ⏱️👋 WE NEED A BENCH PG FOR THE PLAYOFFS. BRING THIS DEMON HOME 🔥🔥🔥😭 — FUCK IT, WE (LONZO) BALL. GIVE HIM THE 10-DAY BEFORE THE PLAYOFFS START.
Jokes (kinda) aside, who's supposed to be the PG for the bench? Bronny? Kobe? Smith Jr.? Move Smart to the bench? Should we just sign a washed free agent? Maybe pray for Chris Paul to magically unretire and play with us?
Obviously, it's a petty futile situation. Still curious though.
Any of our two way guys deserve a roster spot over Bufkin — Any one of Timme, NSJ, Manon would be more useful to us in the playoffs than Bufkin.
Bufkin been a bench guy with ‘promise’ for years. Has played max 20 games a season. And when on the floor, just does not look like he knows what to do.
Timme has performed well in big moments before, and his size and IQ would be helpful. Manon is a much much better defender, something we could always use. Nick Smith Jr can at least get buckets, as we have seen this year. His career high is 28, Bufkins is 12

Cap experts can you explain how much cap space will we have next season? I know that Austin reaves will have a 20m cap hold. So if we don’t re-sign Rui Kleber and keep Kennard at a similar contract will we have around 70m in cap space?
Our Depth Issue- We have 8 bad players not including Kleber who are not getting any play-time at all. Nearly every NBA team let alone contending team has more useable players. — I don’t know why our depth and two ways are mostly made up of small guards or one-way players. We obviously needed length and athleticism and defence but Pelinka chose to stick to redundant players who fill no holes in the rotation. Theres many small pickups that could be had.
Nick smith jr, Chris manon, Jared Vanderbilt, Adou thiero, drew timme, Knecht,Kobe Bufkin, bronny james. Then a maxi kleber who’s injured. Contrast this with thunder who has nearly every position filled with someone compe

3 GOOD/3 BAD/1 WTF for 3/18/26 vs the Rockets — The final tiebreaker Infinity Stones has been acquired for LeThanos' gauntlet. Suffice it to say Luka told the crowd at Toyota Center, "Houston, you've got a problem." That's enough movie references, let's talk about this one.
**GOOD**
**Luka "That's what I f\*cking do baby" Doncic -** In one 2.5 minute sequence late in the 4th, the following happened:
* Luka hits a stepback three to put the Lakers up 2 possessions
* Luka performs a behind the back split of a double team and lobs it to a ba
[Highlights] Luka Doncic lobs it to LeBron James for the clutch alley-oop dunk and then hits the step back 3 dagger over Jabari Smith Jr. (with replays). He got some words for the crowd.
Today's starters: Hachimura, James, Ayton, Reaves, Doncic
Updated Net Points for the roster — Here are some takeaways/changes.
1: The team has been about a middle of the pack defense in recent weeks due to the heavy zone usage and that's portrayed here among the starter's values.
2: Luka's playing his best basketball as a whole right now while both AR/LeBron have fallen off a bit for different reasons.
3: Jaxson Hayes has officially supplanted Ayton for having the most productive minutes at the C position on the roster. He's elevated his own play while Ayton has continually fallen off
3 GOOD/3 BAD/1 WTF on 3/2/2026 vs. Kangz — Back to back blowout wins against teams they should beat?!? These Lakers?!?! INCONCEIVABLE! After two crushing losses, the Lakers bounced back nicely. Funny how in a parallel universe, the Lakers have gone 5-1 since All Star break and are currently the 3rd seed. Alas, this team lost two games by a combined 5 points and then proceeded to win the next two by a combined 52 points. Don't look now, but we have a +0.5 net rating(!!!). Let's dive into it
**GOOD**
**Luka and LeBron -** Combined 52
Who is the worst player on the Lakers team — Found this nice little stat called net rtg on/off diff on the nba site. It’s basically the team’s net rating when a player is on the floor minus the net rating when they’re off the floor.
It basically shows us, who, when on the floor is actually making the Lakers better or worse:
https://www.nba.com/stats/team/1610612747/onoffcourt-summary?dir=D&sort=DIFF\_NET\_RATING
Marcus Smart leads the regular rotation players at 7.0
Jake LaRavia is the worse among the regular rotation players at -6.9.
Assuming Bron is gone next season, who would you like to see as the potential long term PF? — Whether or not Bron retires or goes somewhere else, who is a 4 that you would like to see in this upcoming offseason as we will have access to a decent amount of picks and the projected largest cap space.
3s are often talked about here for who we would want along side Luka and AR with names like Herb, Watson, Eason, etc, but as the market of 4s is slim I wanted to hear what you guys think could be potential targets?
Names that come to mind ranging all around from really wanting to it wouldn’t

League is all about size and athleticism at guard position and the lakers especially need it why do we keep signing small guards? — Lakers need good defence athleticism length and size. However even our 2 ways or any roster spot we have available is filled with either one way unathletic offensive players or small guards. Nick smith jr, Bufkin, timme, (bronny), manon, now we traded for kennard. Unathletic offensive players are the last thing we need.
Haywood highsmith would’ve been a way more useful piece to build around Luka for the future. Than Kobe Bufkin lmao.
Kobe Bufkin or Nick Smith Jr? Who has more upside? Or Bronny?
Bench Players Needing More Play — Almost every night there is a post asking why one of our bench guys isn't getting more minutes.
If you're watching tonights game, that guy is playing and not helping much which should answer these questions about end of bench guys for the rest of the season.
Playing Timme, Nick Smith, whoever else, etc. - this is the outcome

Using Capspace — Point of this post is to highlight some alternative options for the Lakers this Off-Season (as well as get a feel from others if my assumptions are reasonable). With the current financial reality of the league, I think we focus too much on the older paradigm of team construction, ignoring or misunderstanding the realities of cap space and financial flexibility. I'm by no means an expert in this and am still learning, so I want to present my thoughts and hear what others think to better underst

We need to address some things — Few Days left for trade deadline. Our Ass bench is hoarding 35-40 Million Dollars while being so ass that they have had the lowest-scoring bench in the playoffs for two consecutive years.

We can legit be trophy contenders if our front office wakes up.

Like what do these people do on the team.
