Jake Laravia — To be honest I am one of jake believer cause i know dude has a lot of offensive bag probably the ball handling needs to work in and also he shown passing skill early season. I really thought jake would avg atleast 12 to 14pts per game this season and will take away rui starting minutes is this pressure playing in LA or Do you think he will improve nxt season?

Lakers starting lineup tonight vs. OKC: Luke Kennard, Jake LaRavia, Rui Hachimura, Drew Timme and Deandre Ayton — The Lakeshow is not looking like the usual programming this time. JJ Redick is experimenting with what he has, to try and find an effective rotation, in the face of the league leading Oklahoma City Thunder. I for one am excited to see some Bronny James content tonight.

[Buha] Lakers’ starters vs. OKC: Luke Kennard, Jake LaRavia, Rui Hachimura, Drew Timme, Deandre Ayton
[Panerio] Cowherd: "Lakers are a sports car, and their answer for everything is more power. Handling—don’t worry about it. Aerodynamics—somebody else’s problem. Braking, tires—eh, somebody else can worry about it. Let’s give us more horsepower... And that’s been Rob Pelinka’s answer to everything.” —
“This was the inevitable conclusion,” Colin stressed.
“JJ Redick inherited a completely lopsided roster. He should be up for Coach of the Year. They have no bench. They can’t shoot threes. They can’t rebound. They’ve got no rim protector. They lack ‘3-and-D’ guys in a ‘3-and-D’ league,” the veteran pundit added.
For context, Luka played 35.8 minutes a game, which actually isn’t outrageous for a player of his caliber. However, his usage rate of 38.6—which is a career-high—essentially
Jake LaRavia's jumper is broken because of the way he gets set every time he shoots — Has anyone else noticed this? Every time Jake gets the ball behind the arc to shoot, he always does this crazy hop to get himself set but it's actually hurting him because he's always off balance when he shoots. This is why whenever he misses, he misses bad because he's off balance when he rises up. There are players who get set by hopping into their shooting motion on the catch but his way of getting set is catching the ball and then hopping into it and immediately rising up.
Dude is gettin

Lakers 2027 Plan A Mistake?! Plus What Jake Laravia Brings To LA — So this is from last June, and yeah, Rob's plan is for 2027, which sounds crazy to me like we're going to waste Luka, AR, and LeBron's time hoping we can land a superstar in the 2027 free agency. 🤦🏿♂️
Cap experts can you explain how much cap space will we have next season? I know that Austin reaves will have a 20m cap hold. So if we don’t re-sign Rui Kleber and keep Kennard at a similar contract will we have around 70m in cap space?
Stop building Luka's MVP case; you're setting him up to fail with a flawed roster. — There is no chance in any world that Luka wins the MVP; he was never truly in the running. He was miraculously moved up to second place on the MVP ladder out of nowhere simply to build engagement. The purpose was clear: build Luka up, then flood the media with segments about how a player who plays zero defense shouldn't be the frontrunner, ultimately presenting "Wemby for MVP" as the solution. We are all well aware of how that campaign has played out.
Besides that, the problem with this narrat
3 GOOD/3 BAD/1 WTF for 3/31/26 vs Cavaliers — Okay, I did not see THAT coming. I thought this would be a tough game against a quality opponent, and even though both teams were on the second night of a back to back, with Allen and Strus returning I thought Cleveland would be locked in. Turns out Luka returning was all the Lakers needed and even without our defensive anchor in Smart...we just walloped the Cavs. If we beat OKC on Thursday, chalk me up officially as a believer that this team is a contender. Not just a fringe contender, but

How Injuries Have Impacted The Top 4 MVP Candidates' Teams — With team record and on-off data being a large part of the 2025-26 MVP discussion, it's worthwhile to understand the health of each MVP's supporting cast, as teammate health has a large effect on both of those statistics. These lists show each team's top 7 players (besides the MVP candidates) numbers of games missed, with the top 7 teammates being chosen using DunksandThree's EPM model to determine the "best" 7 teammates. This was done to avoid having unproven or relatively unimportant players l

Spurs are +26.3 when Victor Wembanyama is on the court since ASB — That's by far the best in the league (min 200 minutes). It’s a historic number and simply quantifies what everyone sees when watching Victor Wembanyama. Across every catch-all metric out there, his defensive impact is in the 100th percentile and he's in the 90-98th percentile on offense depending on which one you look at.

Jake LaRavia has been a massive disappointment after his elite early season stretch — After looking amazing very early in the season in November, LaRavia has regressed to being barely playable or unplayable.
He is clearly the 9th man in the rotation now and he may be competing against Vando for the last rotation spot soon. I think he may be out of the playoff rotation or only receive very few minutes.
His shooting has been awful all year long, his defense is decent but not incredible, his finishing is respectable but again not superb.
We mainly need him as a defender, which he

Luka has had the best defensive in/off rating in the team since his last tech — \-38.8 diff, that’s just insane. 105.2 defensive rating.
Him running down on defense instead of arguing with the refs makes a massive difference.

4 GOOD/3 BAD/Several WTFs for 3/10/2026 vs the T'Wolves — Just when you thought the Lakers got their best win of the year on Sunday, well, here comes this game. In fact I was so happy with this win, I couldn't narrow down the GOODs to just 3 so I added an extra good for today. Sweeping the season series from the T'Wolves won't erase the disappointment of last year's playoff loss, but it also shows me that last year's team wasn't far from overcoming the T'Wolves and that this year's team which is arguably more talented, has proven better than Minnesot

Knicks Film Watch — I got a chance to rewatch the Knicks game and I think there's several guys that didn't get enough shine after that game.
**1. Rui Hachimura.** My goodness this was maybe Rui's best game as a Laker. I'm not even exaggerating. This was probably his best rebounding game I've ever seen, he crashed at the appropriate times and was actually going after rebounds in a way he simply hasn't his entire career. Should JJ give another shot to Dalton? — It feels like with recent trends, we have a small opening in the rotation, that Dalton could grab, given a second (third, fourth, fifth?) chance.
Vando is on the fringe of the rotation since AR returned - with Luka, AR and Lebron, the team must lean into the offensive identity, which does not fit Vando.
Ayton was benched a few times recently, and missed games too. With Kleber struggling with injuries too, and small ball lineups thriving, we have more minutes for wings and guards.

Updated Net Points for the roster — Here are some takeaways/changes.
1: The team has been about a middle of the pack defense in recent weeks due to the heavy zone usage and that's portrayed here among the starter's values.
2: Luka's playing his best basketball as a whole right now while both AR/LeBron have fallen off a bit for different reasons.
3: Jaxson Hayes has officially supplanted Ayton for having the most productive minutes at the C position on the roster. He's elevated his own play while Ayton has continually fallen off
Lakers Team +/- and On/Off Stats for the Season. — Some thoughts:
Marcus Smart has played almost exactly half the team's minutes and had a +/- as well as On/off twice as good and a defensive on/off thrice as good as anybody else on the team. We are literally a top 10-12 defence in the minutes he plays and a bottom 3-4 defence in the minutes he sits out. You could make a case that with his play as well as actually being available for nearly 90% of games this season, he has been the second best laker this season factoring in injuries and I'd agre
