The improbable source of hope to close the season. — Ok folks, it is going to sound laughable and I have to admit I gave up on that player a long time ago, but desperate times require desperate measures and without Luka a top 3 player in the league, without Austin that is our second leading scorer and LeBron James being 41, we desperately need to seek for hope on improbable places.
I've seen folks talking about Ayton (the most reasonable source of production), Bronny a sophomore kid that is getting better and even Hayes, a player that is transiti
Cap experts can you explain how much cap space will we have next season? I know that Austin reaves will have a 20m cap hold. So if we don’t re-sign Rui Kleber and keep Kennard at a similar contract will we have around 70m in cap space?
Our 2026 Draft Pick is a small beacon of hope after tonight — I know that Mark Williams trade being rescinded eviscerated Dalton Knecht's confidence, but I'm very glad it happened. I personally wouldn't give up an FRP for Mark Williams, and this class is looking quite deep.
With Mark Walter hiring Tony Bennett to be the team's new draft advisor, it's pretty clear that we're going to draft this summer. Trying to get a quality center in this draft should be a high priority, and this draft has bigs with lots of potential that are projected to fall to the lat

The South Bay Lakers Win Their Final Game Against the Sioux Falls Force, 140-132 - Timme with 36 Pts, Bronny with 26 Pts — The South Bay Lakers are the number one seed in the West. Bronny James goes on a heater in the fourth. That Timme/Bronny connection pays dividends, as Timme scores a season high 36 points and a season high 26 points for Bronny James.
Other in double digits: Dalton Knecht with 18 points, RJ Davis with 18 points, Arthur Kaluma with 15 points.

4 GOOD/2 BAD/1 WTF for 3/25/26 vs Pacers — Does anyone else get more anxious when the Lakers are up 20+ points than when they're in a close game? Orlando is on a 3-game losing streak and after being torched two Alexanders for 40 points, I'm going to check the Lakers roster for any other Alexanders just to be safe. — Charlotte dropped a ton of threes on our head, but they've been doing for three months now, so no Alexanders needed for that. Lakers are on a roll though, so they may not need an Alexander for this game. This honestly feels like a "Where's Austin?" game since LeBron and Luka have both been having a great week.

Updated Net Points for the roster — Here are some takeaways/changes.
1: The team has been about a middle of the pack defense in recent weeks due to the heavy zone usage and that's portrayed here among the starter's values.
2: Luka's playing his best basketball as a whole right now while both AR/LeBron have fallen off a bit for different reasons.
3: Jaxson Hayes has officially supplanted Ayton for having the most productive minutes at the C position on the roster. He's elevated his own play while Ayton has continually fallen off
My take on the future of the current roster of this team — This is going to be ordered from staying to gone
**Luka and Reaves:** ***Staying***
This is a nobrainer, they are the core and backcourt for the foreseeable future.
**Luke Kennard:** ***Staying***
He is the perfect 6th man for Luka and Reaves, good passer as a connector, insane gravity as a shooter and good decisionmaker.
His defensive profile is very similiar to both of them, so if we surround them with defenders to help even out their shortcomings, they will also fit well with Kennard

Who is the worst player on the Lakers team — Found this nice little stat called net rtg on/off diff on the nba site. It’s basically the team’s net rating when a player is on the floor minus the net rating when they’re off the floor.
It basically shows us, who, when on the floor is actually making the Lakers better or worse:

[Woike] League sources say the Lakers will make significant hires to a wide range of front-office positions this summer, with the team expected to model their front office after the Los Angeles Dodgers. Team sources have maintained that the Lakers won’t make chasing Antetokounmpo the only pathway. — [ https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7027963/2026/02/06/lakers-giannis-antetokounmpo-trade-deadline/?unlocked\_article\_code=1.KFA.8qGJ.-NrP9B4jgfuX&source=athletic\_user\_shared\_gift\_article\_copylink&smid=url-share-ta ](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7027963/2026/02/06/lakers-giannis-antetokounmpo-trade-deadline/?unlocked_article_code=1.KFA.8qGJ.-NrP9B4jgfuX&source=athletic_user_shared_gift_article_copylink&smid=url-share-ta)

Post trade deadline rankings of young cores. — This does not take into account future draft capital. Only players 25 or under. Not listing every player, but the most important ones. Was hard to separate elite talent from quantity of talent. Especially a team like the Pacers where Haliburton is a large portion of their value but hes 25 and injured. If I missed a small trade or something my bad. Let me know what you think.

Did the Lakers destroy Dalton's Psyche, or is this just who he is? — Did the Lakers destroy Dalton Knecht's psyche early on?
I'm talking even before the failed trade attempt. Playing on the floor with LeBron comes with the weight of, SHOULD I be shooting, or passing to LeBron? After his couple of standout performances, he QUICKLY became very passive. Wonder why.
Could Dalton Knecht have become a legitimate NBA starter and contributor? Cuz, as of now, he only sees garbage time.
[Woike] The Dallas Mavericks are no longer open for business with the Los Angeles Lakers after last year’s Luka Dončić trade. Any pathway to deal for players like Naji Marshall or Daniel Gafford have giant “road closed” signs over them. — Second-year wing Dalton Knecht has been viewed around the league as widely available since the Lakers included him in the ultimately rescinded Mark Williams last trade. Team sources say Knecht hasn’t requested a trade, but he would welcome a fresh start. He’s been out of the Lakers’ rotation over the last 10 games. If the Lakers can find a suitor, the return is expected to be very low.
**Naji Marshall has also generated interest around the Lakers, though the pathways to any deal with the Dallas
Its easy to hate, but Rob Pelinka isn't doing nothing... he can't make teams trade with him — Just because the Lakers haven't done anything and probably won't doesn't mean the gm isn't doing anything. Does any sane person think Pelinka is just sitting in his office, sipping a coffee, thinking "yep, my team is perfect." No. He's trying to make moves.
The problem is this isn't a video game where you can just force any trade that works.
No team out there is excited to get Maxi Kleiber or Gabe Vincent or Vanderbilt or Dalton Knecht. Nobody wants that shit. Why would any team take those gu
Trade Idea for an all in move this Trade Deadline — Why are we waiting for the off season and for what? For big man free agents who are restricted free agents. No certainty we get anybody good.
I have a trade idea SABONIS to the Lakers for Rui, Kleber, Knetch, and Gabe Vincent plus a pick.
Why would the lakers do this: For me being proactive and moving for something that is sure is better than waiting for the off season with no assurances. Sabonis would be a very good fit at the 4/5 for us. It gives the lakers much more flexibility with the lin

Can I have some deep analysis as to why Dalton Knecht hasn’t panned out? (Desc) — I don’t know if it matters, but I have been following the team ever since LeBron got here because I’m a LeBron fan so I have been following along somewhat.
It’s a new season. We have a new head coach and JJ Reddick, and we drafted Dalton who is a shooter, and in hindsight seemed like a great fit for our new coach.
He had an amazing preseason and definitely had some great moments in his rookie year as far as I can remember.
But he has complaints about his defense, but is that the only reaso

Claxton/Sharpe/Zaire Williams — I’m not sure Brooklyn would actually move *both* centers **and** a wing in one deal, but all three are reportedly available.
I’d gladly send out the **2026 & 2031 1sts**, the **2032 2nd**, and **Dalton Knecht** on draft day for **Claxton, Sharpe, and Ziaire Williams**.
**Why it makes sense:**
* **Nic Claxton**: Elite defensive anchor. **Switchable**, mobile, and doesn’t need touches. Basically the ideal modern center next to Luka. Rim running, vertical spacing, and high-level defense.
