Grizzlies GM Zach Kleiman's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Year — Zach Kleiman has received a ton of praise over the years as a standout GM for the Memphis Grizzlies. His draft history is undeniable. Late first hits in Clarke, Bane, and Aldama. Second round hits in Vince Williams, GG Jackson, Jaylen Wells. I don't think there's a better drafting GM in the league than him. His prowess has earned him Executive of the Year honors in the past and he has a hell of a career ahead of him. What can't be ignored however, is just how bad he's been this year.
Let's sta
Top Eight in the West: Records vs Each Other Going Into Sunday — Below are the records of the top 8 teams in the Western Conference vs the the other seven (win% included). While this definitely won’t be a clear indicator of postseason results, I think this does show that not only was the west tightly contested seeding-wise, but also that these teams have beat up on each other record-wise — outside the Cozy Corner BBQ (so tasty) outlier — all year.
It was the regular season. I get it. So many factors affected results: injuries, back-to-backs, load management,

Can Desmond Bane keep the Grizzlies afloat? — Desmond Bane is even better than you think.
The Grizzly with the beach ball biceps isn’t just a shooter, although he certainly is that. Few do it better. His 7.0 three-point attempts per game were the 26th-most in the league; of players who shot more, only Klay Thompson, Buddy Hield, and Michael Porter Jr. had a better shooting percentage than Bane’s 40.8%.
40.8% is somehow the lowest percentage of Bane’s short career; he shot 43.2% as a rookie and 43.6% as a sophomore on a similar number of a

Sometimes you have to sacrifice something for bigger picture. For winning. For going for the playoffs. For going deep in the playoffs. Playoffs is different animal. It's not about scoring 45. It's going to be about stops, doing little things,

My 2021-2022 NBA Season Preview: #23 Memphis Grizzlies — Grizzlies
Ok, here’s my NBA preview/power rankings. In this, I’ll go from team to team talking about them in detail and talking about how they did last season, their guards, forwards, and their centers, their head coach, their best case scenario and worst case scenario, a bold prediction about them, and a final prediction on how they’ll do for each team. I’ll also have one specific paragraph about an interesting player. Seems like a lot, but it’s certainly easier done than said, if anyone ever

(Long Ass Post) Grading Every Danny Ainge Pick... Ever — **This was shared here from r/bostonceltics**
The last page of Danny Ainge’s book has been written and we can finally put his career into perspective. While some of his draft picks haven’t fully realized themselves, it’s safe to look back on his drafting career and evaluate how he did from start to finish. Some of my grades may be through rose tinted goggles as I’m very fond of some of these players and while looking back on the draft pick. Some of the things that will impact a grade are: Contr

[OC] The current battle for the western 8th seed is the most exciting thing in the NBA. Who are you rooting for? — #What is the battle for the western 8th seed?
There is only one team with a W/L record between .430 and .621 and that is OKC (.568) because this season, there happens to be a clear and massive gap between teams who are good and teams who are bad. While all of the good teams sit comfortably in playoff positions, we are nearing the All-Star Break and the Western conference has seven teams battling it out to secure that 8th seed.
Those teams from 8th to 14th are the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Tr
[OC] "Hinge" players from the Southwest Division (Dallas, Houston, Memphis, New Orleans, San Antonio) — When a team is projected to win 35 games, they're most likely to go fall somewhere in between that 30 to 40 range. And that variance depends on a variety of factors: injuries, the streakiness of 3-point shooting, etc.
However, each team also has some high variance *players* that will influence their upside and downside more than others. We're calling this a "hinge" player. It's not necessarily the "X-factor," because that hinge player may be the star of the team. He may be a rookie. He may be
Top Free Agent Predictions — This is just my personal predictions - my list is probably excluding people:
Atlanta - Stays put. Potentially re-signs Dedmon. Will make a splash next year with the rookie deals.
Boston - Malcolm Brogdon - fits their timeline, makes it impossible for Milwaukee to match, allows them to still target a young veteran big on a team that can't afford him. Carsen Edwards fills the role of Rozier, who they probably can't afford to pay, and Brogdon was probably more valuable than Bledsoe in the playoff
