Lakers-Clippers preview — A couple of highlights from my digginbasketball preview:
\- the key of course is will Kawhi Leonard (questionable) be the latest player to make his return against the Lakers?
\- the Clippers were 6-21 before they beat the Lakers on Dec 20. They've gone 11-3 since, having the 3rd best offense in the NBA during this stretch.
\- Kawhi is averaging nearly 33 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and 2.6 steals per game during this period.
\- A couple of young players, and player on two-way are p

Clippers want to trade CP3, can Rob finesse a trade for him and DJJ? — News today broke that the clippers are going to try trading Chris Paul before they waive him. Would Rob entertain “helping” the clippers with the trade as long as we get Derrick Jones Jr in return?
The likely hood of this happening is low but DJJ will solve our POA defense and athleticism issue immediately. DJJ has a sprained MCL but we would most likely be trading an expiring contract not named Rui to acquire him.
Quick Trade Thoughts For Both LA Teams — CP3 becomes trade eligible on December 15, so turning his contract into Maxi Kleber’s eleven million dollar expiring gives the clippers flexibility and a trade piece they can use later. They also get DK on a cheap deal plus a future second instead of waiving CP3 for nothing, and he still gets to stay in Los Angeles with his family and join a contender. For the Lakers it helps immediately because DJJ gives them the athletic wing defense and simple spot up shooting they have been missing (when he’

Lakers Roster Season Preview: Backcourt Bench — Hi everyone, with just a full week until the official start of the season, I'm going to start something I've wanted to do for some time: a preview/prediction/expectations write-up of the roster as it currently stands. We're going to begin with the backcourt bench today. Tomorrow will be the frontcourt bench, and then we'll move our way through the starters, which I'll default to as Luka/AR/LeBron/Rui/Ayton. I know LeBron is currently out, but it seems silly to put him as part of the bench, and I
it's crazy to look at it this way
Best Perimeter Defending C&S Wings of the Last 2 Seasons.. — We STRUGGLED containing dribble penetration on the perimeter after the loss of Max Christie, as most of our guys have defensive roles that are primarily off-ball
So, it's obvious the Lakers NEED perimeter defense, most notably at the starting 3 spot
That player would also need to be able to provide value off-ball with their shooting, as the starting lineup obviously has 3 ballhandlers and a center who will no doubt be involved in a ton of PnR action
So l narrowed down the best perimeter isola
Cant quit the idea of Luka and Zion trade idea — [2031 Lakers FRP to Pelicans](https://preview.redd.it/tu8sdl9acg5f1.png?width=3525&format=png&auto=webp&s=0a350612db07a8e272b9463df54cebdf33184295)
11 man rotation with Bronny, Luka and Lebron. Cap relief for Pelicans, young prospect and a draft pick.
Lakers should be all over this — Apparently Saunders was the one in charge of the defense over at Denver this year. Based on what they were able to do against Shai and OKC this playoffs I’d really hope they’re targeting him for this upcoming year. Did a great job with some pretty limited personnel.
Building Around Doncic — This is probably an offseason content but I want to dive into how to build a proper team around Luka Doncic. I’ll use a few real-life examples as reference points. Initially, I thought of going by archetypes, but then I figured breaking it down by tiers would make more sense. First and foremost, while Luka and LeBron don’t have the exact same offensive style, when it comes to offensive load over the last 30 years, LeBron is probably the closest match. And when you look at usage rate stats, Luka
Fun Fact: The Lakers currently have the most number of players (7) wearing sleeved undershirts — Original Content (idk why it was removed in r/nba):
Fun Observation: Sleeved Undershirts are now more common than ever
Five years ago, when thinking about NBA players wearing undershirts, first player that comes to mind for the most of us is Anthony Davis. Watching the games this season, I’ve noticed that there’s a lot more players rocking the undershirt. Here are the players wearing one:

**Boston Celtics**

FA Targets to Prioritize, With or Without Kyrie — I am operating under the assumption that Kyrie’s only logical way of getting to us is an opt-in and trade via 3 team deal. The Nets would NOT take Russ so we would need to rope in a 3rd team and probably have to give away aggressive draft compensation in the process (2027 and 2029 FRPs as well as a few seconds and/or a FRP Swap).
Even if he were somehow able to be convinced to come on the MLE, getting rid of Russ would still be an absolute MUST. Hence why I think we need to canvas the NBA for
2022 Offseason FA Targets — Like most of the Laker fans that had to went through this season, I've been thinking about what we would do this summer non-stop. So much so that I had to write these stuff out to get it off my head at times. Anyways these players would be my targets for this summer (of course after the inevitable Westbrook trade). The ones with (\*) sign are the realistic and essential players.

It is a buyers market — This offseason is very interesting to me. Main question being, how do we reload to compete for a title this year while remaining flexible enough to compete for free agents in next years premium class. Taking a look at the free agent lists, I think there are plenty of players who will be available to us to do just that.
Remember, there are only 4 teams with cap space, and none of them are contenders, so I cannot see them offering big contracts for role players, there is also not enough of them
MJ Agent Falk basically dissing Lebron and today's players “I don’t think the depth of talent today is nearly as deep as it was in Michael’s era", "he'd average 60" — Of course MJ is amazing, but come on, there's no way there was more depth in talent then vs now? Let me remind u, David Falk, that MJ won the 98 finals against a team that gave starts to Ostertag, Foster, Keefe, and had rotation minutes for well past their prime Antoine Carr and Chris Morris?
Meanwhile by the end of the 2020 finals, ppl like Olynyk, Derrick Jones, Solomon Hill, Meyers Leonard, and Dwight, Javale, Cook, Dudley (who all bring something to the table, weather it's shooting, defen
